The season does exactly that for me. Every time. It's been a year for everyone, but I can't help but feel hopeful with the coming of the cool mornings, leaves underfoot, and an extra layer or two. This mid Fall collection shot by the talented Collectively Jamie and set to drop tomorrow, October 15th, 12PM ET, was completely inspired by my mom in the 70s while at college. She was a Southwest girl in a Midwest school, and she stuck out like a sore thumb with her leather bell bottoms and Native American choker necklaces.
While I don't have any leather bell bottoms (regrettably) for this drop - I had a blast playing with the 70s collegiate vibe paired down and casual. The leather, the denim, the corduroy, the carefree hair, the wild setting mixed with structured blazers, classic knits, strong silhouettes and sturdy bags totally makes for a fun combination of opposites - very much like my own parents:)
I love vintage and secondhand because it makes me think outside the box when it comes to getting dressed. And, that's exactly what I hope these lookbooks do - inspire you to have more fun with your style and wear clothes that mean something to you.
